Hi all members. We are new at dirt bike riding and we love it. There are three of us in my family. My wife Tracy and my 14yr son Taylor both ride Yamaha TTR-230. I ride a Yamaha WR250f. We have been mainly riding in the chipmunk area of Chilliwack. We have been up to the pond in Hope twice now and liked it very much, well perhaps not the one trail called "Mikestrail" that took a lot out of us at the end of a long day riding. We are looking forward to meeting more families that ride as well. I would like to offer my time in helping with any type of assistance to the club that involves trail work. Remembering that I’m rather new at riding. Thanks

Thanks WRick. Yes we love camping but we just sold our 29BHS Hideout about three months ago. I really don't want to go back to tenting so we will have to wait and see how we will camp next year. Yes I do plan on coming out to the next meeting, would that be Nov 10th @ 7pm? Also would you happen to know when changing the oil on my WR250 for the very first oil change, do I need to drain the crank case oil? If so how the hell do you remove the #6 crank case bolt (info from owner manual P.#3-5) in order to drain it? LOL I was told I didn't need to drain it but then I thought how would I know how much oil to add back in? Hope that made some type of scents. :>) I did drain the oil and replace the filter but now I’m just concerned I may have over filled after adding the 1.4lt.
Thanks for your time.
Tony.

Hi Tony

With regards to the WR you need to remove both drain bolts. The one on the bottom of the bike and the one on the front/top. You need about a 600 ml but you have a sight glass to check the level also.

Hope this helps?

Robin

Thanks Robin. Yes I did do both bolts but the glass still looked like it was dark so I thought the crank case bolt/screw would drain that. I could not get that screw out (no room for alan wrench to fit). Im sure all is ok, I ran the bike today for about half hour.

Cheers. :D
